Cheap Designer Suit: How To Get One
In this tough economy who can afford a designer suit? You can’t! So go for some cheap designer suit ideas. Right now, vintage is in. Everyone wants to recycle and save money. Old fashioned clothes are the new fashion. That makes finding a cheap designer suit that much easier.
With some creativity and some rummaging through your parent’s closets, your own closets and your local good will shop or thrift store, you can easily come up with a cheap designer suit. Start with whatever you can find. The suit doesn’t have to be the same color, but it should match. It should also be of the same fabric.
For example, your cheap designer suit might have tan slacks but a navy blue jacket. However, a blue slacks with a tan jacket does not often look as nice. Black slacks with a gray jacket or vice a versa also works well. Never put navy blue with back, and never put tan with gray. Other than that, you should be fine.
Go retro. If you found a suit with worn out elbows, get some suede from your local department store and sew oval patches on them. You’ll look like you came straight from the seventies. If you found a suit that has a worn lapel, wear it with a nice t-shirt and go in the eighties style.
There may be other issues with the cheap designer suits you find that are easily fixed if you have the know how or can find someone like you mom or girlfriend to help you. Missing buttons are not a problem, but you’ll want to replace all of the buttons. Don’t try to mix and match. Loose seams can also be easily stitched up and made new. Worn lapels can be hidden with a boutonnière. The possibilities are endless.
Finding a cheap designer suit is only as easy as your creativity level and your effort. If you’re not sure what type of suit will fit your personality best, think of your favorite seventies to nineties movie and think about what your favorite actor was wearing. That’s the suit you want. And thanks to thrift stores and the Salvation Army, it’s the suit you are going to get for a fraction of the price.
When you’re done with the suit, you can recycle it again and do your one thing to save the planet. It’s all a win-win situation. You get a cheap designer suit, and one less thing goes to the trash heap.
